Ramadan theme — iOS, Android & web
HUMAIN Chat
An AI assistant that dresses up for Ramadan.
A Ramadan theme for HUMAIN Chat, HUMAIN’s Arabic-first AI assistant: a night-glow art direction, a seasonal app mark, splash screens, a themed chat and a greeting-card generator, across iOS, Android and the web. It is opt-in, and it steps aside the moment you start typing.

- 3platforms: iOS, Android and web
- 4artworks: lantern, crescent, prayer beads, dallah
- 1toggle in Settings to switch it on or off
- 2chat states: celebrating at rest, quiet while you type
The brief
Ramadan, without getting in the way
Ramadan changes the rhythm of the day across the region: late nights, early suhoor, family gatherings and a flood of greetings. HUMAIN Chat is an assistant people use for real work, so the theme had to feel like the month, not like a sticker on top of the app, and it could never make the product harder to use.
I owned the theme end to end: the concept and art direction, the flows, and the UI for iOS, Android and the web.
The journey
From invitation to greeting card
- 01A small in-chat invite offers the theme
- 02A Ramadan splash opens the app
- 03The chat glows at rest and goes quiet when you type
- 04Pick a greeting card and add a name
- 05Download it or share it
Opt-in
An invitation, not a takeover
Nobody wakes up to a different app. The theme is introduced by a small invitation inside the chat, and it can be switched on or off at any time from Settings, under Seasonal appearance, right next to the usual light and dark themes.
The App Store icon stays exactly the same. Only people who choose the theme see the Ramadan splash and the seasonal mark.

Behaviour
Celebrate at rest, step aside in conversation
Before you type, the chat sits on a soft, blurred Ramadan scene with رمضان كريم calligraphy at its centre. The moment a conversation starts, the calligraphy disappears and the background quiets down, so the answer is always the focus.

Art direction
Night, glow and wireframe light
Every object in the theme (a lantern, a crescent, prayer beads and a dallah of Arabic coffee) is drawn as glowing wireframe light on a deep night, in HUMAIN Chat’s own green. It feels festive and calm at the same time, and keeps text readable on top.

Greeting cards
A card for everyone you’d message anyway
Ramadan is when people send the most greetings. Right inside the chat, you can ask for a card, pick one of the designs, type a name, and download or share a personal greeting in seconds.
- Swipe between designs
- Add a name, placed where it reads best
- Download or share in one tap

What I took from it
Culture is a feature
Seasonal moments are when an Arabic-first product can prove it really is Arabic-first. The best version of a theme like this is one people choose, enjoy for a month, and switch off without ever losing their place.
